POSITIONS-1 RTH-Y Sector – Industrial Note:Day 1 reporting post OB Candidate Band will be count as per their relevant experience. We will not entertain lesser experience profile for higher band.Mode of Interview: Face to Face (Mandatory).*** JOB DESCRIPTION*** A skilled and experienced Linux L2/L3 Engineer with deep expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) versions 5 through 9. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills across multiple Linux environments, experience building and managing servers in Cloud, VMware vSphere and on-premises infrastructures, and a solid understanding of cloud computing platforms with the ability to diagnose and resolve related issues. Key Responsibilities: • Provide L2/L3 technical support for Linux environments, primarily Red Hat (RHEL) versions 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. • Perform OS-level troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of performance issues. • Build, configure, and maintain Linux servers on Cloud, VMware vSphere and traditional on-prem data centers. • Execute patching, minor/major upgrades, and kernel updates with minimal service interruption. • Manage storage technologies including LVM, NFS, SAN, and perform system performance tuning. • Collaborate with cloud teams to troubleshoot issues in AWS, Azure, or GCP environments. • Support hybrid workloads, VM migrations, connectivity issues, and cloud resource health. • Participate in monitoring, logging, and alert triaging for cloud-based workloads. • Support cloud governance, security, and configuration compliance standards. • Work across both on-prem and cloud platforms to ensure unified operational workflows. • Automate daily operational tasks using Bash scripting, Python, Ansible, Puppet, or similar tools. • Maintain configuration consistency using automation and configuration management frameworks. • Support integration of cloud-native and on-prem tools for monitoring and operations. • Utilize tools such as Smarts, Dynatrace, and Splunk for proactive monitoring and incident response. • Participate in on-call rotations, handling critical issues across hybrid environments. • Document incidents, RCA reports, SOPs, and operational guidelines. • Support HA/DR strategies for both on-prem and cloud workloads. • Assist in testing and validating DR plans, failover procedures, and backup restoration processes. Required Skills & Qualifications: • 4+ years of hands-on experience in Linux systems administration (L2/L3 level). • Strong expertise in RHEL 5/6/7/8/9 – including EOL versions. • Solid experience in building, deploying, and managing Linux servers on VMware vSphere and On-Premises. • Familiarity with on-premise infrastructure environments and hybrid models. • Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP) – particularly in issue troubleshooting. • Proficient in bash scripting; knowledge of Python or other scripting languages is a plus. • Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef). • Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NFS, SSH, etc.). • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning abilities. Nice to Have: • RHEL certifications (e.g., RHCSA, RHCE). • Experience in ITIL-based environments. • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools. • Knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).
